Dell upgrade to vista (a fiasco)

Filed under: Uncategorized — arrowsmith @ 9:57 am

I tried upgrading my laptop with capability to redeem my OS to windows vista home premium.  You go to the website https://www.dellvistaupgrade.com/

The PC is eligible and the order has the authorization.  But the website said that my PC is not eligible.

https://www.dellvistaupgrade.com/contactus.aspx I first call the number on the list

1-866-634-7426.  I was told to check if my PC service tag was  registered.  I new it was since I have showing on the dell website.

18006249897.  I called customer care and they looked into my system and looked my order number and then I got transfered to tech support about upgrading.  I told the issue and he thought that I was buying the new OS. after a few repetitions, he told to contact the number below.

I was told to tell them that I need to “redeem” which I thought I have been telling themd.

18006249897 option 1 7266966  this number gets on a queue and then drops you.

what a piece of work.  I wonder how many other folks are having this problem
